Sue Hardman
Managing Director
What brought you into the agency?
I founded the agency back in 2003 after working for global multinationals in PR/Comms and brand management, including a stint of four years in the USA. I decided to go it alone to create an agency that would service clients the way I had wanted to be looked after by an agency when I was in-house. That meant understanding my industry almost better than I did, bringing fresh ideas and opportunities to the table, being thought-provoking, and more than anything, being a business person first. That meant understanding business goals sit at the heart of any comms programs, that there are constraints and internal politics that can make progress hard, and each business has a rhythm and culture you need to step in line with.
What’s your workplace superpower?
I think it’s the ability to join the dots and stitch together opportunities where others can’t see them. Oh, and never give up. I’ll always find another way to do something and not let a roadblock stop me.
What do you love most about your job?
Opportunity everywhere.
What’s the most useful piece of advice you could pass on?
Trust yourself and go with the flow. Everything you need is within you already.
What do you do when you’re not on the job?
I’m an avid veggie gardener and proud of the 40+ varieties I have in my small urban garden. I love to cycle and walk, listen to podcasts and books, and spend time with my four always-surprising kids.
