Stress happens — but we’ve learnt there’s no one way to handle it. Whether it’s walking, baking, breathing or just knowing when to switch off, our team has found what keeps the chaos in check.

Sue – My biggest learning this month as we focused on stress management, is how stress shows up so differently for everyone. Some people go quiet, others get super focused and busy. Getting to know how your teammates react under pressure, and how you can support each other through it, makes a huge difference. It’s not about fixing anything, just understanding.

Kendi – Like every second middle aged mum, I like to bake my way out of stress. Bread, brownies, cakes, pastries – good for the soul if not the waistline.

Alex – I’ve really enjoyed learning some different breathing techniques to help with mindfulness and de-stressing. If I can’t get to sleep at night and my mind is buzzing with many different thoughts, they’ve helped me to relax and be present.

Shereen – When it comes to managing stress, I’m all about movement. Whether it’s taking a walk with some good music in my ears or booking in for a deep tissue massage, I find that getting out of my head and into my body is the best way to reset. It helps me clear my mind, refocus and come back feeling a whole lot lighter.

Karen – Working from home is exactly as I planned but it is hard to turn off. Routine which includes exercise like a walk on our property and family time – with clear demarcation between work and rest, which is not always easy to achieve, helps me to find balance. Decompartmentalising is one of my newfound tactics – and essential for me to sort the stuff I can’t fix from what I can do something about every day.
