Who doesn’t love a selection of clever tips? Here are some that we have come across in the past few weeks:

Social post glow up
Want to use bold text or italics in your social posts? Usually, the platforms limit you to plain text, but this handy website lets you fancy it up: https://yaytext.com/bold-italic/

A perplexing alternative to ChatGPT
If you’re ready to try something other than ChatGPT, check out www.perplexity.ai. It’s a search engine that lets you ask questions in natural language, gives you helpful responses, and lists the websites it got its info from so you can check things out for yourself.

Turn your iPhone into a scanner
Just open the Notes app, tap the camera and select “Scan Documents.” Your phone will crop and adjust the image automatically, creating a clear PDF you can save or share. Scans look much better than photos if you need to send off a form!

Excel-lent insights
If you’re using Excel, try the “Analyse Data” button on the Home tab. It uses AI to generate charts, summaries, and trends based on your data, giving you fresh insights without spending hours digging through spreadsheets.

iPhone’s got back (taps)
Set your own shortcut tasks like taking screenshots or opening apps. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Back Tap and assign double or triple taps on the back of your phone to complete the task you choose.

Design like a pro in PowerPoint
Use the “Design Ideas” feature under the “Design” tab. It uses AI to suggest professional layouts for your content in seconds. Perfect for those of us who are PowerPoint-challenged…

Take stunning iPhone photos
To step up your iPhone for the perfect snap, enable the grid for better composition (Settings > Camera > Grid) and try the Portrait mode for depth-effect shots. For tricky lighting, tap on the brightest area to adjust exposure, and hold your finger to lock focus and lighting.

Edit PDFs in Word
Open the PDF file directly in Word, and it will convert it into an editable document. Make your changes, then save it back as a PDF if needed, no extra software required!
