Who would make the cut for HC’s ideal dinner party? From sport stars to politicians, we share who we’d love to break bread with and share some yarns over a good meal.

Sue – A penny for your thoughts! I am intrigued by Senator Penny Wong. I have never met her and only observed her leadership on climate policy and social justice from afar but imagine our dinner conversation would be equals parts educational and inspiring as we tackled big issues and talked about how to make a difference. She always appears so calm and put together – so hopefully my hectic curiosity might also get a laugh.

Kendi – There’s a Russian ballerina called Maria Khoreva who is on track to be the absolute superstar of our generation – she is off-the-charts talented and just breathtaking to watch AND she was recently in Australia, though I found that out too late. I’d love to have dinner with her and talk about her career and her time at the famous Vaganova Academy. I am pretty sure I’d need to take a run through the KFC drive through on the way home though, because I don’t think ballerina dinner would cut it for me.

Alex – Mine would be the formidable duo of Hamish and Zoë Foster Blake. I’ve been a fan of theirs for years, from the other formidable duo of Hamish & Andy to Zoë’s fiction books and her amazing skincare brand. Plus, they always have these outrageous themed dinner parties at their beautifully designed house (that featured in Vogue!) that one can only dream about snagging an invite to.

Shereen – I would love to have dinner with Daniel Riccardo, the famous Aussie Formula 1 driver. His infectious personality and genuine love for life would bring so much laughter and fun to the table, which is exactly what I want when enjoying a meal with friends. I’d be fascinated to hear his stories, wisdom and scoop on the other drivers.

Karen – I have had the good fortune to have had dinner with some wonderful doctors, lawyers and international figures over the last two years. People that have an incredible desire to achieve or just survive despite incredible odds inspire me. One of my heroes is London bombing survivor Gill Hicks and I would love to join her for a meal.
