Because Hardman Communications’ clients operate in a particular space, we are always on the lookout for opportunities for cross-pollination. During 2011, Hardman Communications executed a highly successful media relations strategy promoting contractors ACT Civil – and at the same time generated great exposure for our existing client Kobelco.
ACT Civil is a Canberra civil engineering company with a great story to tell. The three owners all lost their jobs 11 years ago when their employer went into liquidation, so they set up their own business, using their credit cards to finance it. The business is now booming and turning over approximately $10 million a year. The directors credit Kobelco’s exceptional machinery as a fundamental reason for their ongoing success.
Hardman Communications prepared and pitched a media release to specialist and mainstream media, locally and nationally. This included development of a strong news angle around the national skills shortage and briefing the company director on national construction issues to provide valuable commentary.
Results:
The story delivered great results for two companies in one hit. Coverage was generated in mainstream news, finance and business media as well as in specialist construction media, including: ABC TV’s Inside Business, The Australian Financial Review, BRW Magazine, The Canberra Chronicle, Construction Contractor and Earthmoving Equipment Review Magazine.
